CHRISTIAN APOLGETICS
Christian apologetics is the defense of the Christian faith through rational arguments. The term comes from the Greek word apologia, which means "defense".
Some feel that faith alone should need no justification, however, many feel that Christians should be prepared to defend and spread their faith by intellectual means, especially as many people will not accept Christianity without a "rational" reason to do so.
Christian apologetics has existed as long as Christianity itself. Jesus himself spent time in the temples and synagogues, debating and explaining the meaning of the scriptures. The Apostle Peter exhorted early Christians to apologetics, writing,
"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander." 1 Peter 3:15-16.
The Apostle Paul also spent time in Athens, debating Stoic and Epicurian philosophers. Acts 17:16.
Great theologians such as Origen, Athanasius, Irenaeus, Martyr, Augustine, and Acquinas continued the tradition of apologetics on a dramatic scale. At the same time, apologetics was practiced by countless individual Christians, explaining and defending their beliefs.
Purposes
Apologetics has generally been used for two purposes: Efforts to persuade others of the truth of Christianity, and efforts to defend the reasonableness of one's own beliefs, while not seeking to convince others of their truth.
IN DEFENSE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION
Western civilization is under attack. At universities and in the media, professors and pundits decry Western civilization as exploitative, destructive, and without value. Western civilization is the envy of the globe. It has given to the world universally accepted understandings of human rights (rooted in Judeo-Christian principles), created standards for art, music, and literature that have never been equaled, and originated political and social systems that have spread all across the planet.
Unfortunately, the fog of political correctness now obscures these and other truths about Western civilization. Leftists and Islamic jihadists find common cause in assailing Western "colonialism," "imperialism," and "racism" as its defining characteristics. Guilt-ridden Western leaders and public figures speak of their cultural patrimony in disparaging terms they would never dare to use about a non-Western culture. And in the academy, "multicultural"-minded professors flatter students into believing they have nothing really to learn from Sophocles or Shakespeare.

Sorry for the long delay in responding... My garden is taking up a lot of my time right now. I'm not on the computer as much as before. I hope to expand on posts to this group, as time permits.
What do I hope to accomplish? I hope to give the average person some ammunition to defend the faith through rational, reasonable arguments, through Christian Apologetics. Folks can come to a saving faith in many ways. Some have come to faith through science by exploring the mysteries of creation. Whether it's the intricacies of the human body, or the mysteries of the universe. I hope people will find something here that will strengthen their faith, or help them come to faith by finding some answers to the hard questions that have troubled man from time immemorial.
I'm in no way suggesting that my beliefs, or the Christian faith be forced on anyone. After all, God gives us all free will. And that concept intricately fits with liberty and freedom. I'm just standing up for my own beliefs, Western Civilization and for the historical facts concerning the founding of this nation. I do feel it's essential that all Americans should at least acknowledge the profound influence that the Biblical World View has had on this nation from it's inception. Change or ignore any elements of our founding, and you will end up with something entirely different then what the Founders set in motion, through Divine Providence.
We need to educate folks on the profound influence and impact of the Judeo-Christian philosophy and faith on the founding of this nation. And that without this Christian Heritage, this country would have never come into existence. For many decades the secularists have tried to deny, dismiss, ignore and out right distort the impact of our Christian Heritage on this nation by revisionist history. The leftists have so demonized Western Civilization along with it's moral code of Judeo-Christianity that many in the West will no longer stand up and defend their own heritage, and way of life. And we see evidence of this by what is happening in Europe as multiculturalism and the new tolerance tell us that we must accept all cultures as equal, and superior to our own. The West should not be inculcating Sharia, Islamic Law into Western jurisprudence. As has happened in England. And then we see the violence in France, Denmark and other European nations from Islamic fascists. When we, in the West are taught to be ashamed of our own heritage, then we, as a nation will not stand up and defend it to save our own culture, an way of life.
I love America's big melting pot... but we, in the West, have our own historical traditions, philosophy and faith that have molded and shaped our way of life into the prosperous nation that we have today. And those traditions, philosophy and faith come directly from the long road of Western Civilization, and it's moral code of the Judeo-Christian ethic.

I believe in Gods plan through the Christian faith and always backing the Jewish ...so little but so strong is Israel...I believe we can plant a seed when talking with someone who doesn't believe unless God works through us in callling an individual to come to Him in salvation...We don't know who is going to have salvation through Christ that is why we have to as God wants us to do spread the Gospel all over...those who resist His calling we pray for contually hoping they will accept Him one day before it's too late...argueing never gets anywhere...I stand by my faith and had to act upon it many times...even at the place I worked...I've even put up a scripture on the wall at work and not long after that changes took place so I know God is powerful...take care,,,God Bless Barbara Mc
