At least with the immigration debate Burr was swayed by calls and letters from constituents, unlike Hagan and Shuler have been since the election. Burr's vote in favor of the first bank bailout was due primarily to being fed a bunch of bull about the problem being a crisis far greater than it was. He was told that if they didn't pass the bailout our banking system would fail. Since that time I have seen him shift primarily back to the traditional conservative values of the GOP. We all saw how the "New GOP" as represented by McCain was a huge failure (it split the party) and we need to get back to the traditional conservative roots of the party. Seeing Burr's voting record lately, I think he is on board with this. He has also openly spoken out against Cap and Trade. While he is not perfect, the last thing we can afford is to get another ultra-liberal Obama lover like Hagan. If the GOP is split in the 2010 election, that is what we are likely to get.

Unfortunately, I hate to say, I'm not a Richard Burr fan. During the Comprehensive Immigration debate year before last in the Senate, Burr was one of those RINO Senators that had to be overwhelmed with calls to get him to vote against the Bush/McCain bill. Many people talked about how hateful and rude his staff was when they called urging him to oppose the bill. I experienced that rudeness my self on several occasions when I called.

And!... anyone that would follow Juan McCain around, and seek to be his VP is not someone that I have trust or confidence in. And his vote in favor of the first bailout showed me he has no core values concerning the Free Market and Capitalism. Guess he agreed with Bush when he said he was sacrificing the Free Market System to save it. What a crock!

No... I think he needs to be primaried out. But if no one will run against him in a primary, then I may have to hold my nose and vote him. Ugh!!

It is important that we get behind Burr for his 2010 re-election campaign. We can't let his seat end up becoming another Kay Hagan disaster. He is one of the few in Congress who stands up to this radical leftwing Administration. As it is, Obama is fast-tracking his liberal agenda. If the Dems get a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate there will be nothing to prevent the most radical liberal agenda in American history from being crammed down our throats.
