America does not need a Revolution we just need a Revelation

REDISCOVER AMERICA

WORDS OF WISDOM

The time is now near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves, whether they are to have any property they can call their own, whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army. George Washington

Remember Their Sacrifice
On D-day thousands of troops were slaughtered at Omaha beach, Grandpa Ballard was among those troops whose lives were spared that day. One could only imagine what went through those brave mens minds as their Higgins landing boats approached the bloody beaches that day. And I can say with certainty that those soldiers couldn't have imagined what awaited them there. I can only imagine what it must have felt like to be in those boats and to hear the sounds of the bullets slamming against the hull, tap, tap, tap as if it were the grim reaper himself knocking to claim his prize. Or the feeling of the impact of mortars exploding in the waters surrounding the boat, spewing the salty bloody mix over the sides of the boats and that smell, that aweful smell ,the smell of blood and death, the smell of the fate that awaited them just beyond those doors. Black, white, Native American, Latino, Hispanic all gave some but many gave all, never to see home again. Granpa was one of the lucky ones who made it home, and we were all the better for it. Though he rarely ever spoke of that day openly, many times he would re-visit that beach in his dreams. According to Grandma, he would often scream out in horror crying out blood and mud blood and mud, there is blood in the mud only to wake up in a cold sweat.
Granpa fought his fears, those demons that haunted his memory and his dreamshaunted him for years. He faught that war long after the last shot was fired. He faught and faught until he met the Supreme Commander one day while sitting in the pews of his church. Grandpa found the peace of God through Jesus.

He had a new lease on life now, and new marching orders from his Supreme Commander. He began to fight another war, a war of morality, character, dignity and righeousness. The war we now see raging today as we fight against the genocide of the unborn, the definition of marriage, constitutional rights seen by our forefathers as natural rights afforded by God himself.

He faught the good fight day in and day out, setting the example for his children and grand children until one day, he got his final marching orders. Now he serves in heaven alongside the God he loved so diligently here on earth.

At his funeral, His fellow servicemen came to pay their last respects and to hand him over to the almighty. They stood at attention one at each corner of his casket in honor of their brother.

It had been an over cast day that day, but as his comrades began to fold the flag that draped his casket in half length ways the sun came out. Once the flag was folded in half lengthways they turned and step by step walked out from under the shelter and stood in the sun holding the flag yet still folded.

Suddenly, his comrades snapped the flag open. the sun reflected those glorious colors of Red, White and Blue! as the somber tune of taps began to ring out.

The tears began to flow, but not from sadness nor sorrow but from pride. I stared into that flag and in that moment I realized, there he was, there was Grandpa, right there, in the flag. There he was with all of those soldiers that gave their lives that day on the beach, there he stood by their side now and by the sides of our founding fathers.

Grandpa, still lives if only in our memories, but when I think of him I realize that this was a man that was Baptized in blood and fire and came out as Steel.

Godspeed Grandpa, we love you!
