TEA Party/Freedom Works/912 Group Gather for 4th of July Boat Parade
Tea Party members from throughout North Ga. gathered on July 4th to ride in the Lake Chatuge boat parade."We had about eighty to ninety people who wanted to participate in the boat parade, but we didn't have enough boats. Those we couldn't get onto the boats committed to supported us from the shoreline,stated N.J. Davis of Hiawassee, a coordinator for the three local groups."
Each participant took home a petition that will be signed and sent to the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Senate. The petitions stated,"I,the undersigned citizen of the United States,petition the United States Congress to stop any increased role of the government in my health care decisions. I also petition the U.S. Congress to protect my right to choose my own doctors and hospitals without delay or denial, to obtain care that is patient-centered,and that is personal, portable and best suits my needs".
"We mean business said N.J.Davis. We are also participating in the Pink Slip campaign. Pink Slips are being sent to various lawmakers that have not done their jobs. The statement on the slips explains to the legislators we the Americans who elected them are fed up and are not going to just sit back and accept the ineffective legislation that they pass.Most congressmen and senators don't take the time to read what they vote for. So apparently we citizens are put in the position of reading the legislation and notifing the legislators of what it contains.We are non partisan and it does not matter what party they represent. If they are not doing their job we,the voters are serving them notice. The American silent majority has woke up and is on the move to secure the future of our country. We are working to defeat the CAP and TRADE LEGISLATION and many other issues.We are not Democrats or Republicans, WE ARE AMERICANS." We are sick and tired of
politicians who give lip service instead of public service.
